Over the years, I’ve made a lot of articulation games for speech therapy.
Like… a lot a lot 😅
When you work with a wide range of students and sounds, you quickly realize that articulation practice has to be:
- 🎯 Engaging (or kids check out fast)
- ⏱️ Easy to prep (because time is limited)
- 🔄 Flexible enough to use across your entire caseload
That’s why our shop is filled with articulation games that are quick to prep, easy to reuse, and actually fun. These are games you can print once, laminate if you want, and pull out again and again for different students, sounds, and groups.
If you’re looking for articulation card games that work for individual sessions, small groups, or even classroom-based therapy, this post has so many great resources made just for you!
We also included a special free resource – a Go Fish Deck for R in All Positions. It is easy to download and prep and has real life pictures for engagement! Download it below!

Why Articulation Card Games Work So Well in Speech Therapy
Card games are one of my go-to formats for articulation practice in speech therapy — and for good reason.
They are:
- 🎲 Familiar (most students already know how to play)
- 🌱 Low-pressure
- 🔧 Easy to adapt for different sounds and levels
- 🔁 Perfect for high repetitions without it feeling repetitive
Games like Go Fish, Bingo, and matching naturally build in turn-taking, attention, and multiple productions of the target sound — all while keeping sessions fun and motivating.
And let’s be honest…
when a game is fun, kids are willing to practice more.
Why Go Fish Is One of My Favorite Articulation Games
Go Fish is one of those classic articulation games that just works.
Here’s why it’s such a great option for speech therapy:
- 🎲 Students already know how to play (minimal explaining)
- 🔁 Naturally encourages repeated productions of target sounds
- 👥 Works for mixed groups and individual sessions
- 🔤 Easily targets initial, medial, and final sounds
- 🎉 Feels like a real game, not a worksheet disguised as a game
That’s why we’ve created a R Articulation Go Fish Deck just for you! You can download it below.

Why These Articulation Games Are Easy to Reuse
One of the biggest benefits of articulation card games is how flexible and fun they are. You know what I am talking about – articulation card games mean speech sessions with giggles and lots of good sound practice.
Most of these games can be:
- ⭐ Printed and laminated once
- ⭐ Used across multiple students
- ⭐ Adapted for different sounds
- ⭐ Paired with drill, structured practice, or carryover activities
They’re designed to support high repetition, which is key for articulation progress, without burning you out as the therapist.
